Compared to Lemonade Insurance, which I have reviewed previously, Cover Insurance requires a few more steps to get an accurate quote, but I find that it provides a more thorough examination of your coverage needs. After opening the app, it asks, "What brings you to Cover?" I will select "I want a better rate." Next, it asks, "Do you personally own your home?" I will select "Yes." The app then asks how long I have lived at my current address and my age. I will enter "38." I also have some college education, and I am fully employed as an insurance agent. Next, I indicate that I am an insurance broker, and that I am married. The app offers me an extra 10% off my policy if I link my bank account. This is an innovative feature as Cover Insurance will be the follow-up point, rather than the multiple companies that often call you if you shop around for insurance.
I proceed to indicate that I have insurance currently with Citizens Insurance in Michigan, and I have been with them for 5-8 years. My current bodily injury coverage is higher than the 200/300 I carry, so I will select 250/500, which I have mentioned in previous videos. I don't remember my monthly premium, so I will put $200 for now.
After I entered my wife's information and our vehicle information, I selected "Best Coverage" to ensure that I get the most comprehensive coverage available. The entire process took me about three to four minutes, which is impressive given the amount of information required.
